Hollister King Rural Family Practice Grant

Ends on

The Hollister King Rural Family Practice CPD Grant is named in memory of Dr. Hollister King, who was College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) President in 1977/78 and Family Physician Chief of Women’s College Hospital in Toronto, Ontario, in honour of his lifelong commitment to rural family practice.

This grant supports academic and community-based family physician CFPC members who are actively practising in a rural setting and wish to carry out continuing professional development (CPD) activities related to meeting the changing needs of their patients and communities within Canada. These grants are intended to support programs based on the four principles of family medicine:

  • The family physician must be a skilled clinician
  • The doctor-patient relationship is central to the role of the family physician
  • Family medicine is a community-based discipline
  • The family physician is a resource to a defined practice population
